For the 4th Of July celebration, our friends Ed and Tia rendezvoused with Frank and us for some afternoon drinks. Ed and Tia moved out of Juneau the same week we did, but they floated all the way down to Bellingham. We all celebrated American independence by playing Michael Jackson songs in an Australian bar while watching soccer. It was awesome. After that we enjoyed a delicious Vietnamese dinner: I had a spicy beef dish; Ashleigh had a noodle bowl. Then we made our way to a party on a rooftop overlooking the waterfront where the fireworks were set off.
